Dr. Louisa Gembora is a registered psychologist since 1988. She graduated from McGill University, earned her doctoral degree from Queen’s University, and worked in correctional and psychiatric settings. She was Director of Psychology at the Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital, then opened her private practice in clinical, counseling, forensic, and rehabilitation psychology. She offers assessment, treatment, and consultation to individuals, couples, groups and business. Referrals are accepted directly, and from physicians, lawyers, government agencies, the courts, insurance providers, etc. Dr. Gembora practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-focused Therapy, and Supportive Psychotherapy to help clients achieve success and happiness.
Dr. Gembora is past president of CAPDA, and an active member of several professional organizations. She serves in court as an expert witness regarding criminal and psychological-legal matters. She is a public speaker and contributor to both radio and television (She has been a judge on Canada’s Worst Driver). She was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship by Rotary International and is an active member of the Rotary Club of Downtown Hamilton. She has a passion for racing cars, coach’s high performance driving, and loves her parrots.
